Ayrton Group have an immediate requirement for an on-site Health and Safety Lead working with our client, a large Engineering group, on a construction project in the Dublin city area.
This is an initial contract position of a 12 months, with the potential for extension upon review.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Safety Management System on-site.
- Management of all Health and Safety employees.
- Overseeing all subcontractors on-site.
- Supervising regular site audits/inspections to ensure Health and Safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
- Coordination of weekly Health and Safety meetings.
- Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
- Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation.
- Assisting in the initiation and organization of Health and Safety training of employees and executives.
- Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
- Managing, developing, and maintaining incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
- Preparing/reviewing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.
- Weekly/monthly reporting to client and site management.
Key Requirements:
- 3+ years’ work experience in Health and Safety required.
- Minimum of a recognised Diploma in Health and Safety.
- Previous experience in a Lead Safety position is required.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
- Experience in Construction and Mechanical & Electrical works is required.
- PSDP experience is essential.
- Confidence to lead and manage a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
