We have a requirement for a Health and Safety Officer with an energy services/solutions provider on a project commencing in Craigavon, Armagh.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage site set-up.
  • Implementation of the Health & Safety Plan.
  • Deliver Health & Safety induction programmes for personnel working on site and establishing training gaps and establishing resource issues as required.
  • Carry out routine internal site audits to ensure effective performance of safety is achieved.
  • Provide Health & Safety advice and direction to relevant personnel on site as required.
  • Manage, develop and maintain incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Attend site safety meetings and organise toolbox talks on safety issues.
  • Coordinating accident/incident investigations and liaising with the regulatory agencies and insurance companies on reported accidents and causations.
  • Develop and Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements onsite.

Requirements:

  • SMSTS qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
  • First Aid qualification is essential.
  • Hold a recognised third level qualification or Diploma in Health & Safety.
  • At least 3 years experience in a Health and Safety role.
  • Experience in construction would be advantageous.
  • Highly organised and capable of working on own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate & interact across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility in line with business requirements.
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Full driver’s license.
