Health and Safety Officer – Kilkenny

Ayrton Group are seeking a Health and Safety Officer for a large pharmaceutical construction project in the Kilkenny region.

This roles offers a contract of 5 months with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
  • Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
  • Assisting in the management of subcontractors.
  • Assisting in the initiation and organization health and safety training of employees and executives.
  • Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
  • Maintaining incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.
  • Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
  • Carrying out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.

Key Requirements:

  • 4+ years work experience in Health and Safety required.
  • Minimum of a recognised Diploma in Health and Safety.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
  • Experience in Construction required.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
