Ayrton Group are seeking a Health and Safety Officer for a large pharmaceutical construction project in the Kilkenny region.
This roles offers a contract of 5 months with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
- Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
- Assisting in the management of subcontractors.
- Assisting in the initiation and organization health and safety training of employees and executives.
- Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
- Maintaining incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
- Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.
- Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
- Carrying out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
Key Requirements:
- 4+ years work experience in Health and Safety required.
- Minimum of a recognised Diploma in Health and Safety.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
- Experience in Construction required.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
