Abrasive Wheels Training - Classroom

This Abrasive Wheel Awareness Training Course is designed for those whose work includes the use if any type of machine that has an Abrasive Wheel.

Course Overview

Our Abrasive Wheels Courses Cover The Following Machine Types:

• Angle grinders fitted with cutting or grinding wheels
• Cut-off saws
• Bench top cut-off saws
• Bench mounted grinders
• Pedestal mounted grinders

The training covers:

• The hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels
• Identify the methods of marking abrasive wheels as to type and speed
• List the methods of storage, handling and transportation of abrasive wheels
• Show the methods for testing and inspecting wheels for damage
• Demonstrate the correct method of mounting an abrasive wheel including knowledge of the function of the components
• Show the method of dressing a wheel
• To adjust the rest correctly
• The requirements of the regulations
• Risks associated with Power Tools
• Practical training session, from which all delegates will be assessed
