Who is this course for
This programme is open to all learners, specifically those who have a responsibility in Health & Safety within their work environment either operational and/or services training. Some learners may have past experience in delivering training or safety solutions to industry or they maybe acting within a safety capacity in a business.
Course Aim
This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and competence to become a confident and effective Manual Handling Instructor.

Access, Transfer and Progression Access refers to a learners’ ability to commence a programme based on being able to evidence minimum educational achievements and competencies. Typically, to access an award at one level on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), the learner must have achieved the preceding level (or higher). Transfer refers to the learners’ ability to use achievement of one or more minor awards at one level of the NFQ to transfer to certain other major or special purpose awards at the same level (or potentially at a higher level). The ability to transfer to another award is dependent on the certificate requirements of the award that the learner wishes to transfer to. Potentially a learner can transfer internally (to another programme offered by Ayrton Group), or externally (to a programme offered by another provider). Progression refers to a learners’ ability to use the achievement of an award at one level on the NFQ to progress to an award at a higher level. Further information on access, transfer or progression is available through our Sales Team, in our promotional materials, and on our website.

On completion of the course, participants will:
• Know and understand the main components of Health & Safety legislation and regulation
• Know the main risk factors for back injuries, understand the main components of the spinal column and concepts of ergonomics

If a learner or employer is in any doubt about this achievement at Level 5 or English language proficiency, then please contact info@ayrton.ie.
For information regarding Transfer and Progression please contact info@ayrton.ie

Learner Additional Requirements/Reasonable Accommodation
We do our best to accommodate learners who have a disability/specific need when it is practicable and feasible to do so (an accommodation is a modification of classroom or an evaluation procedure designed to address particular needs). We invite learners who have any additional needs/requirements to speak to our Training Manager alan@ayrton.ie in confidence, before the programme begins. The following are examples of supports we can put in place:
• Additional time for exams or assignment submission
• Provision of additional equipment
• IT Support
• Facilitate, if possible, alternative assessment instruments to be used, where required.

Protection of enrolled learners (PEL) is an obligation on providers of QQI-accredited programmes to ensure that no learner will be at a financial loss should a training provider cease trading during a programme. PEL only applies to programmes lasting three months or more. For this reason Ayrton Group is not obliged to provide the protection, however Ayrton Group is committed to it's learners and will abide by the spirit of this legislation.
