SLG training is a legal requirement of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction Regulations) 2006 Reg. 97, If your work involves working on roads, near roads, on pavements, footpaths or any activities that may interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic.

Who is this course for
Managers, Supervisors and Operatives who are required to plan, organize and manage roadworks in both rural and urban situations.
Course Aim
Designed to train participants to be competent to plan, organise, direct and manage the safe flow of traffic through roadworks with the minimum of delay and risk to other road users over our three day course.

On successful completion of this course, a SOLAS CSCS card for Signing, Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks will be issued, as well as QQI Level 5 certification.
Course Objectives
Candidates who successfully complete this course will be qualified to set up, maintain, modify and remove temporary traffic measures around roadworks and manage the safe flow of traffic through roadworks. Candidates will also be able to interpret Traffic Management Plans, in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
Course Requirements
• All trainees have to have a valid Irish Safe Pass
• All trainees must have over 9 months experience in the past 2 years in working on the road
• All trainees have to have an Irish or UK PPS number
• All trainees have to be able to read, write and understand English on their own. If not then a SOLAS/FAS approved interpreter needs to be provided on-site for all training. Interpreter needs to be approved in advance of the course.
• All SOLAS Candidate Packs need to be completed and returned to us in advance of a booking being confirmed, where applicable. You cannot resit this course if you have previously held a CSCS card in SLG
