Ayrton can assist you in preparing a Demolition Waste Management Plan and Construction Waste Management Plan ahead of your project commencing
The purpose of a Construction & Demolition Waste Management Plan (also known as a C&DWMP) is to consider the waste likely to be produced during the demolition & construction phases at any project.
This in turn will lead to the provision of information necessary to ensure that the management of construction and demolition (C&D) waste at any project is undertaken in accordance with the current statutory/ national requirements, as well as construction industry standards.
This includes the Waste Management Acts 1996 – 2011 and associated Regulations such as the Protection of the Environment Act 2003 as amended, Litter Pollution Act of 1997 as amended & so on.
In particular, a C&DWMP must aim to ensure maximum recycling, reuse and recovery of waste with diversion away from landfill, wherever this is possible. A C&DWMP must also seek to provide guidance on the appropriate collection and transport of waste from the site to prevent issues associated with litter or more serious environmental pollution (such as contamination of soil and/or water).
The process of preparing a Construction & Demolition Waste Management Plan by Ayrton Group normally involves;
- Site visit & review
- Review of the Clients plans for this project
- Review of a Bill of Quantities, if one exists
- Review of any planning stipulations that exist at this time regarding waste & demolition from the Local Authority
- Assessment of the proposed construction process
We have templates to help assess quantities of materials used/ waste created.
For this, the Clients QS is likely to be required to assist with provision of quantities of various materials anticipated at the project.
