Ayrton Group have an immediate requirement for a Health and Safety Officer on a residential construction project in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will support to a Senior HSO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment.
- Perform incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
- Review SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
- Management of all Health & Safety paperwork on-site.
- Carry out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
Key Requirements:
- Degree level qualification in Health & Safety preferred. Diploma or similar will be considered with equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Health & Safety position.
- Residential Construction experience required.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
